Sharpen garden tools before storing
-
Clean before you sharpen.
Wire brush for soil, steel wool with oil for rust, solvent for sap. You cannot sharpen what you cannot see.
-
Follow the factory bevel.
Diamond file or whetstone along the existing angle, edge-leading strokes, until a burr forms on the flat side.
-
Sharpen bypass pruners on one side only.
The curved blade’s outer bevel gets the file; the flat inner face gets exactly one deburring pass. Grinding the flat ruins the scissor action forever.
-
Bring spades and hoes to a working edge.
Sharp-ish, like a butter knife: a filed spade cuts roots and soil with half the force. Razor edges just chip.
-
Oil everything and store dry.
A wipe of camellia or plain machine oil on metal, linseed on wooden handles, hung off the floor. Spring-you says thanks.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
