Find a stud in the wall
-
Start from a socket.
Outlets and switches mount to the side of a stud. One is within a couple of centimetres.
-
Measure in standard steps.
Studs run at 40 or 60 centimetre centres. From the first stud, the tape predicts the rest.
-
Confirm with a knock.
Hollow rings between, dull thuds on wood. Sweep across and hear the change.
-
Calibrate the finder on the wall.
Hold it on plain wall to zero it, then sweep slowly. Mark both edges of the beep.
-
Verify with a thin nail.
One small test hole where a screw will hide. Solid resistance is the only proof.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
