Mow a lawn so it thickens
-
Never cut more than a third.
The one-third rule is the whole science. Scalping stresses grass into thinning and weeds.
-
Keep it longer than you think.
Four to five centimetres. Longer blades shade out weeds and root deeper against drought.
-
Mow dry, with sharp blades.
Wet clumps and torn tips invite disease. A sharpened blade cuts; a dull one bruises.
-
Change direction every mow.
Alternating patterns stops ruts and leaning grass. The stripes are a free bonus.
-
Leave the clippings, mostly.
Short clippings feed the lawn back. Rake only when you mowed too late and made hay.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
