Teach a kid to ride a bike
-
Take the pedals off, lower the seat.
Feet flat on the ground. The bike becomes a balance bike, which is where riding actually lives.
-
Let them scoot and glide.
Push, lift feet, glide. When glides pass a few metres, balance is solved.
-
Pedals back on, hold the child not the bike.
A hand on the shoulder, not the saddle. Holding the bike teaches your balance, not theirs.
-
Start with the power position.
One pedal at two o’clock, push down hard to launch. Launching is a skill of its own.
-
Practise stopping before speeding.
Brakes and a foot down, made into a game. Confidence comes from knowing how to stop.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
