Stack firewood so it dries
-
Off the ground, always.
Pallets, rails or stones underneath. Ground contact means the bottom row rots instead of drying.
-
Bark down, sun and wind facing.
Split faces exposed, the stack aligned so the prevailing wind blows along it. Wind dries more than sun.
-
Stack loose, not tight.
A mouse should get through, the saying goes. Air gaps are the whole mechanism.
-
Cover the top only.
A roof of boards or a tarp over the top third, sides open. A fully wrapped stack sweats and moulds.
-
Give it a year, check with a meter.
Under 20 percent moisture is stove-ready; most wood needs one summer, oak two. A ten-euro moisture meter ends the guessing.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
