Make french press coffee properly
-
Grind coarse, like sea salt.
Fine grounds slip the mesh and over-extract. Coarse is the whole trick.
-
Bloom thirty seconds.
Pour twice the coffee weight in water, stir once, wait. The gas escapes instead of souring the cup.
-
Fill, lid on, four minutes.
Lid parked with the plunger up keeps the heat in while it steeps.
-
Press slowly, halfway is fine.
Gentle to the grounds, not through them. Slamming stirs sediment into the cup.
-
Decant immediately.
Coffee left on the grounds keeps extracting. Pour it all, even into a jug.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
