Keep supermarket herbs alive
-
Split the pot on day one.
Supermarket basil is dozens of seedlings crammed together. Divide into three or four clumps, each in its own pot.
-
Water from below.
Stand pots in a dish of water for ten minutes. Wet leaves and sodden stems invite rot.
-
Give it real light.
South window or a grow light. A dim kitchen counter is a slow goodbye.
-
Harvest from the top.
Pinch above a leaf pair and the stem forks. Stripping bottom leaves kills it in weeks.
-
Feed monthly once it settles.
Weak liquid feed. The supermarket compost is empty within a month.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
