Plant garlic in autumn
-
Plant in October, harvest in July.
Garlic wants the winter: the cold spell is what splits one clove into a full bulb.
-
Buy seed garlic, not supermarket bulbs.
Store garlic is often treated against sprouting and bred for other climates. One seed bulb becomes ten.
-
Break and plant the biggest cloves.
Pointy end up, five centimetres deep, a hand apart, in sun and loose soil. Big cloves make big bulbs.
-
Mulch and forget.
A leaf blanket over the bed, and the winter does the work. Green shoots before snow are normal and fine.
-
Harvest when half the leaves brown.
Loosen with a fork, never pull by the stem, and cure two weeks somewhere airy before storing.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
