Store apples through the winter
-
Store only the perfect ones.
A single bruise or wormhole ruins the box. Damaged fruit goes to sauce and cake this week.
-
Keep the stems on, pick carefully.
Twist, do not pull: torn stems become entry doors for rot.
-
Cold, dark, humid, and not touching.
A cellar or garage at 3 to 8 degrees, apples in single layers on trays, ideally not touching each other.
-
Keep them away from potatoes.
Apples breathe ethylene, which sprouts potatoes; potatoes exhale what makes apples musty. Different corners.
-
Check every two weeks.
One rotting apple genuinely does spoil the shelf. Fifteen minutes of sorting saves the harvest.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
