Start a compost that does not smell
-
Get the ratio right.
Roughly two parts brown to one part green by volume. Brown is cardboard and leaves, green is kitchen scraps.
-
Start with a brown layer.
Twigs or cardboard at the base so air can reach in from underneath.
-
Chop what goes in.
Smaller pieces break down far faster. Whole vegetables sit there for months.
-
Keep it damp, not wet.
Like a wrung-out sponge. Too wet turns anaerobic, which is where the smell comes from.
-
Turn it every couple of weeks.
Air is the difference between compost and a stinking heap.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
