Kick the bells up with your knees.
Sit or stand, dumbbell on each thigh, knee-kick them to the shoulders one at a time. Saves the rotator cuffs before the set even starts.

Start at the shoulders, palms forward or neutral.
Elbows under wrists, slightly in front of the body line.

Press up and slightly in.
The bells travel toward each other, meeting almost above the crown without clanking.

Lock out without shrugging.
Arms straight, shoulders down. The neck stays long.

Lower to ninety degrees or a bit below.
Controlled, to shoulder level. Bouncing out of the bottom is where shoulders complain.
