Descale a coffee machine
-
Use citric acid or the maker’s solution.
Vinegar is aggressive on seals in many machines. Two tablespoons citric acid per litre is the gentle standard.
-
Run the machine’s descale mode.
Most machines have a sequence in the manual. It pauses to let the acid sit in the boiler.
-
Let it dwell.
Fifteen minutes mid-cycle. The dwell dissolves what a quick flush only rinses.
-
Flush with two full tanks.
Fresh water until nothing tastes sour. The flush is not optional.
-
Descale by hardness, not by light.
Hard water: monthly. Soft: quarterly. The warning light is a late reminder, not a schedule.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
