Clean a toilet properly

Cleaner under the rim first.
Squirt, then let it sit while you do everything else. Dwell time does the work.

Wipe top down, outside first.
Cistern, lid, seat, hinges, base. The bowl comes last so drips land where you have not cleaned yet.

Brush the bowl and the waterline.
The line is limescale plus film; the brush plus dwell handles fresh, acid handles old.

Attack old limescale with citric acid.
A cup in the bowl overnight. It dissolves what bleach only whitens.

Clean the brush in the flush.
Rinse in fresh flush water, then let it drip dry clamped under the seat. A wet caddy grows things.
