Adjust bike brakes that rub or feel soft
-
Check the wheel is seated.
Half of all rubbing is a wheel sitting crooked in the dropouts. Loosen, seat it square, retighten.
-
Centre the caliper.
Loosen the two mounting bolts, squeeze the lever hard, retighten while holding it.
-
Take up slack at the barrel adjuster.
Turn it out to tighten the cable. That fixes a lever that pulls too far.
-
Set pad clearance evenly.
Both pads the same distance from rim or rotor, roughly a millimetre.
-
Bed the pads in.
Ten firm stops from walking pace. New pads only bite properly after this.

#1 becomes the Core. This atoma is young: submit a better distillation and take the seat.
No gear needed. Your pot, a timer and ice are enough. That is the point.
